WHAT IS ABA THERAPY?

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is a form of therapy that is governed by the Science of behaviour and learning. ABA focuses on making meaningful changes to an individual's behaviour. ABA is a widely accepted method for aiding individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and one that is considered to be highly successful.

The use of positive reinforcement is one of the main tools of ABA. When a client's behaviour is followed by something that is valued (a reward), a person is more likely to repeat that behaviour. Over time, this encourages positive behaviour change. With positive reinforcement, compassion and commitment, we begin to see a real meaningful change!
